About Us- Sunshine Quill Hedgehogs

Raising hedgehogs is a family affair. This is a project that has become a passion for our children as well as the grown-ups! After raising pygmy goats and moving from where we could keep them, we missed having a pet that we could share with others through responsible breeding. After a lot of research, done by our children, we decided to try hedgehogs. We rescued our first hedgehog, Shakespeare. Shakespeare turned out to be a delightful, handsome grey snowflake that loved to be held and played with. A few months later, we got on a breeder's waiting list and were blessed with Sugar! Sugar was just as sweet as her name. That's when we discovered that our hearts were totally taken with these delightful critters. We knew we needed to share them with others. Since then, we have researched for HOURS and aligned ourselves with some of the best breeders in the country. We have added high quality, sweet tempered hedgehogs to our herd. We've been breeding hedgehogs now for 2 years and have been mentored by several top breeders in the country. Breeding and caring for hedgehogs is not for everyone, as it is hard, unpredictable and heartbreaking at times. BUT, we love it and it has brought us closer together as a family. So, from our family to yours, we share our hedgie love.
